Up until tonight the ews remote fob locked and unlocked car nicely,
Now its being a pain, it won't lock or unlock the passenger door
I can't even now get the key to lock it either without setting off the hazards flashing,
Even pressing the grey unlock / off button doesn't work by unlocking or turning off flashing lights
As usual nothing I have searched for gives me any answers to my issue.

any helpers here please

A picture of your type of key or remote might help?

The key is for turning off the alarm sounder under the bonnet.

Sounds like a possible wiring issue.
Z3 boot loom bit you see on left with boot open (the loom of doom ) notorious for causing central locking issues by breaking wires.

That was my first port of call when the left side locking stopped on my 2000 Z3. Turned out it was the solenoid in the n/s door.
