Further to my last post "poor throttle response" where I had pulled up 3 fault codes, but which was it? I had heard of a good independent BMW specialist in Thirsk North Yorkshire, so I took my Z down to see him but sods law it wasn't playing up when I got there, so I described the fault to him and he came up with exhaust cam shaft sensor, but just to make sure he plugged it into his machine and came up with same 3 faults, being a BMW specialist he said he was 99% sure that's what it was, so while I waited he got a cam shaft sensor and fitted it. Job sorted. Whilst waiting for the sensor we were having a chat it came to light that he services and repairs vanos units. As a specialist he only does BMW,s they also prepares and races them. He also has a body shop next door, although I don't know much about the body shop I was very impressed with his knowledge of BMW's so if anyone is in need of a specialist is this area I would certainly recommend him, he operates under the name of R Elsworth BMW Specialist, York Road depot, York Road, Thirsk YO7 3AA ask to speak to Bob he is the owner tel. no. 07932897125.
