Hello all,

Going over a speed bump earlier I heard the underside scrape. I now have a rattle at low revs. I had a quick look roadside and I think I may have ripped the cats open. I will have a proper look tomorrow (if it ever stops raining).
If I have to have a new pipe, what are the implications of not having cats (99 car, not legal requirement I believe) to noise and performance?
How much am I looking at for system with and without cats?

Cheers all,

Joolz

Hey Jools,

I've scraped the underside on mine on speed bumps before and it sounds way worse than it usually is. It usually hits something other than the exhaust on mine.

Just had a quick look without jacking it up and it looks like there is some sort of heat shield just in front of the axle that looks a bit damaged. I'll have a proper look tomorrow. :(
