Been having a look as I need a new FK452 when the wheels have been refurbed. Luckily my local tyre centre has a couple in stock (at £108.60), so may be lucky this time round.

No one seems to list the FK452 online now, which must be down to the Falken Azenis FK-453 appearing on the sites I'm using.

Makes we wonder what to go with in the future. My local recommends "Toyo Proxes 4" but they don't seem to get as good a review :-ss

I have used Toyo tyres for years now on a number of cars and use them now on my daily bus - Merc Vito, I have never had a tyre that was so good in both the dry and wet. When my current tyres are up for renewal on the Z that is what is going on ;)

My Step-Dad has put those on various cars from his old Supra to my Mum's current S2000 and he swears by them.

He tried to convince me to get a set for my 3.0 but I read a few reviews online and chickened out, spending a bit more on a pair of Contact Sport 5s.

I'm really happy with my Conti's but I'd like to know how you rate the Toyos if you get them!

found some cheaper alternatives in Maxxis which again I am impressed with :)
I was reading up on those and they do seem to get a good review. I'll have another look at them and see if my local can supply them.

I had some Toyo proxes too really good tyre! Maxxis do get good reviews though will be fitting them on my ninja when it wants a set but can't really compare them to car tyres :D

Looks good price wise...

225/40R18 92Y TOYO PROXES T1-R from Event Tyres £106.80
Was quoted £108 each for the remaining few FK452's at my local place.

225/40R18 92W MAXXIS MAZ1 from Event Tyres works out at £85.08 a tyre.

Certainly looks an aggressive tread!

If you look on the Maxxis website they have a "drift" version of the tyres I bought, which is clearly what he has.

On the list of features it says "Special compound makes much more smoke." :ymdevil:

Just been out for a blast with the MA-Z1's fitted. Nice greasy slippery roads, and they feel great so far. Went down a couple of atrocious back lanes, and some quick A roads at a variety of speeds.

Promising so far for the price :D

I put a new set of falken tourers on my 3series e90 estate and they were really really good, great in wet and dry and I'm going to put them on the z4 when it comes round as I find the pilot sports too unpredictable 914's I think they are, I'll double check tho :coolsteer)

Better tyres out there than falcons. Vreds are a lot better.

Run Toyo Proxes T1 Sports all round on mine and no issues at all.

T1R are still around at some suppliers but are being replaced by T1S.
