Fault code 2A9A

2006 3 Litre coupe, car now will not start, showing code 2A9A DME crankshaft-intake camshaft, syncronisation.

I've replaced the sensors but still no luck.

Seem to remember there was a fault showing a timing issue, has anyone had any experience of the vanos bolts shearing from this age of car?

Hopefully my handy mechanic will read the codes again tomorrow.

So after much head scratching, and a diagnostic tool, we got the old girl running again.

New Hella crank sensor was sending an intermittent signal which was giving a missfire, cleaned old unit and refitted, ran great.

Still had a fault code on the exh camshaft, as at this stage I'd just swapped them around, swapped my problem too

New exh camshaft sensor fitted and all codes and lights gone.
