This car again! I found a recent owner on Facebook and started up a thread here about this, because it looked a bit iffy paperwork wise.

The story seems to be shifting, as there was never any evidence on the previous owner. Just that it was in some kind of museum/showroom then shipped back to the UK. The owner when I dealt with him seemed to think it was worth a fortune due to its history, but decided to keep it. He then sold it a week later which was a bit odd.

Most of the details on it checked out though, in that it's a low mileage late registered 1.9 Z3. Not really anything special beyond that methinks....

I'd forgotten about that but it does seem as if it has been to India. just checked on the bay and there were a few bids and was up to £3 odd K but has now been 'withdrawn and no longer available'. Suspicious me thinks.

It's strange, but then so many listings on eBay are strange. Maybe if it was confirmed who actually owned it while it was in India then that might add to its value if it's someone important/famous. There is just a chance it sat in a BMW showroom gathering dust of course.

I think this is going to be one of those cars which occasionally turns up. No doubt at some stage we may even get a new owner sign up citing its celebrity status.... :)

As I said in the first thread Gaz, an import.
When I imported one of my Mercs from Germany, it was registered on the day after it had gone through the Dutch MOT for imports.
As Mercedes did not change much on their cars at the time except cosmetically, people not in the know thought it was brand new.

In this tale the claim is it was built in Germany by BMW for some prince. Why were all other Z3s built in the land of Yankee and this one built in Germany?? Cooper thought he had a car built in Germany. Perhaps he's a prince also?? Just kidding Cooper!! Honest!! No really!! OMG I've been around HT TOO LONG!! JIM

I don't think there are any princes in India......... Possibly it was for the curry house owner of the Prince of India!

If only I had known that before I bought this one and had to pay such a princely price to have the rear window changed out. But well worth every peso I'm sure. Will you hold it for me until I can collect on the wife's insurance policy? Shouldn't be long now feeding time is coming soon!! JIM
