Did this today and it took less then an hour, however the trim was already stripped out. firstly mark out hole, as you can see it is to one side as its a flatter surface, I drew around the speaker and then reduced it so it sits nice and tight.

Next I rough cut it with a 1mm thick cutting disc,

I then cleaned it up with a strip and clean disc, drilled and fitted the speed clips

Speaker sat in place for marking up as you can see its upside down as its very close to te inner cross member and the terminals where in the way, but you can barely tell when the cover is fitted
its so tight that a piece of carpet needed removing.

Hows the sound Sean? What you were hoping for?
Its a shame the speakers cross the joint line of the two trim sections, that would wreak havov with my OCD :-(

I'm not that impessed to be honest, however no amp fitted as the guy at the audio place said it would be a waste of time to try and power anything less then 6" on bass only, also not wired in correctly (only twisted wires together) and using an old HU as I only had CDs with me and the new unit is media only, I also fitted sound deading to the inside of the plastc cowl which made a lot of difference, there was no depth of sound and no where near as good as the Vibe slicks and the bass was p*** poor when cranked up, lots of distortion

That’s disappointing. The lack of depth in mine is driving me crazy.
An amp may fix the distortion but sadly will not increase the bass to the kind of level needed.

I’m considering buying the thinnest possible underseat sub and placing behind the passenger seat.

Gutted for you but secretly pleased I don’t have to carve up mine now because had you said it was great I would have had to do it too.
