The funny thing is: I would never consider a Z1. Even though it was an astonishing car for the time, I think the Z3 is just better looking.

With my apologies to the Z4 contingent, even that I think is a bit too 'conforming' for my taste. The Z8 on the other hand... Oh well, taste is subjective!

Yep, the Z3 is one of the best looking roadsters ever produced in my opinion, regardless of price. It was, of course, a 'retro' design taking inspiration from earlier cars much like the mk1 MX5. Some would argue that in 'Design' terms they were inferior to other more technologically advanced sportscars like the MG or MR2 of the same era, 'form' over 'function', but the MX5 delivered looks and driving experience. The Z3 , looks, and build quality .

UK cars tend to be undervalued compared to continental Europe and latterly the US where, due to its age, a Z1 is now exempt from the various restrictive domestic type approvals.

”New” (unused / unregistered) cars come up sale from time to time, at a price.

Looks like a kit car IMO, it even makes an MX5 look attractive. Each to their own though.

I was always a little underwhelmed when I realised they had an m20 for an engine. The radical looks deserved an s14 or something peppy

Not even a fair ground mirror can make the MK1 MX-5 look good, it's a 10 pinter for sure :depressed:
