Last month I flew down from Scotland to Stansted airport where @Taz Horton picked me up and drove a little to check out my new Z. Not much time to look at the car but the 6.5hr drive home was all i needed to know that this was a really nice car. Handled and pulled perfect. Taz has obviously kept this car very well mechanically over his 8 years of ownership. Any apprehensions I might have had we're forgotten as soon as i could find another car to overtake. I couldn't have specified a nicer car. Whom ever did, back in 1997, i applaud you. She's a beaut.
After a phone call to Taz in March, he accepted my offer, which included a huge amount of good faith on his part and also his desire to keep the car amongst the Z faithful shows the great community spirit in him. Huge thanks to him to make my Z dream a reality. I used to work at my fathers garage on Sundays, (tyres, punctures and lunch-run) and on a walk to the local store on a sunny day a Black BMW Z3 2.8i with red hood sat parked up in perfect condition. Ever since that day, I've always wanted one. With huge thanks to Taz, that is now a reality. Still pinching myself.
With every new owner, comes a fresh impetus to the car. I've been a bit quiet on here of late, but that's not to say I have not been busy. The morning after the 6.5hr drive from Cambridgeshire, i set to work on preparing my current Z for sale. A self-imposed fun embargo on the 'widebody' until Montreal is sold. Over the last few weekends, i've been sproosing the M44 and on Tuesday she was in the hands of her new owner. First to see the M44 bought it. Perfect time to sell in April and thanks to a rare sunny day the buyer didn't take much time.
Just before beginning the days detailing. Dirty but still shining. Non oem badge removal was Stage 1. Quite like the Alpina ones but they are badly worn out. Got new bmw emblems but they don't seem to fit through the holes.eBay special.
The paint work had speckled marks on the front portion of the car. However, clay bar took the contaminants out.
Bonnet after waxing. Reflecting very nicely.
The sun had caught up with me by 6pm with only the rear of the car to be waxed. A candidate for polishing but i prefer waxing instead of taking paint off.
Wash. Claybar. 2nd Wash. Wax.
My new neighbour has a Z4 2.0 sdrive. Ying and Yang Zing before i set to work for the days detailing.
