My fellow Z3 lovers, prey lend me your ears:thumbsup:
does anybody have any ideas where i can get my hands on the tool required for pressing on the front wheel hub and bearing assembly for the Z3. Have looked on line but they are asking stupid prices for them only to be used probably once in a life time!!
Can anyone help?

I did have a 5 ton hydraulic press but sadly it was never used so I sold it! It would have been ideal to get you sorted.

If you get the hub stripped off the car and get yourself a new bearing, go to a local garage and ask them to fit it for you. We often get asked to do this at work, they usually get charged 1/2 hr. labour so much cheaper than buying the gear you need.

All you need is a 3 leg puller and a solid anvil (bit of round bar).

You remove the outer hub first, then pull the inner race off. Both with the 3 leg puller.

Putting back on is easy, you just wind it on with the nut, torque it up and your done.

I am in Stafford, happy to lend you the tools.

Thanks for the offer. I am at the moment stripping down the offside front suspension and will complete it first and then do the nearside later so I would need to lend it for a couple of months as I cant work on the car every day at times only a couple of hours a week..You probably cant do without the tool for a long period of time which is what it will take me to getting round to do both sides.
Thanks again.
