Hi,

its been bugging me for a long time, but my front drivers window seems to forget its one touch operation, i can do any type of reset, hold it in up position for 5 seconds etc and down position for 5 seconds or even longer, and it will work eventually, but after i knock off the ignition for a few minutes it forgets its one touch up... the one touch down seems to work though.

Also if i one touch up once i have set the one touch down its as though theres some sort of anti pinch happening and the window reverses down slightly, this is obviously supposed to happen, i did wonder if it was just the window guides needed lubricating as it triggers the anti pinch, so done that and still the same...

any ideas. ?

What did you use to lube the rubbers Al? Silicone spray is best.

Check the top end of the front guide for “pinching”, failing that I guess you’ll have to look at the mechanism in the door mate, especially the rollers in the slide across the bottom of the glass can freely move right across the full run.

i think its more of a programming issue or the module not remembering the settings...the windows go up and down perfectly, I cant get my head around how the dual stage switch works as theres only one signal to the zke module for up/ down.. i dont think the window switch latches, just looked at the schematic for the car...

how does the window know if its full up or full down on one touch ? I.e. how does it stop ? unless it senses the stall current of the motor, or theres an upper / lower limit switch... or the motor is a stepper type...

anyone know ?

it's a type of encoder which returns pulses from the rotating motor, when those pulses stop, the motor power is immediately disconnected and sent the other way because it sees a stop as an obstruction, hand, fingers, head etc.
The learning process is to set the window closed position, so it does not see the closed position as an obstruction and then lowering again.
In your case, I would say there is some resistance to closing, that is immediately being seen, or there is a fault with the switch itself.
Have you tried swapping passenger and drivers switches over to see if the fault transfers

Mine did this on the drivers side for a few months. I did try putting some silicone spray down the rubber seals but that didn't work, the spray did help with my sluggish windows on the passenger window though.

In my case I suspect it was down to the factory rivet that held the window regulator in position which had failed over the course of a few months until it completely fell off damaging the regulator in the process.

Replacing the regulator (same motor) and welding the factory rivet back seems to have cured my problem and the one touch has worked perfectly since.

thanks both, i had a suspicion it may be sensing either current or position, I have read somewhere that part of the learning process is to set it at 4 inches below the top of the window travel, at least i got some pointers now of where to look...

i not tried swapping over the switches, i can try that.... got to be worth a go as only a 5 minute job...

I fairly sure it's a physical issue rather than electrical. Faheem's comment would back that up?

presumably anti pinch activation disables one touch up... i suppose it would make sense.... if something got stuck in the window, the window reverses and any further one touch window up would stop, maybe thats whats happening i try it on my other car tomorrow...
