Hi,
My fuel pump is humming quite loudly now and I’m told it’s on its way out! £££
Is it fuel tank off to change the fuel pump or is it more easily accessible and what sort of cost would that be at an independent BMW garage?

Many thanks for any advice.

No mention of dropping the tank to remove/replace fuel pump in BMW TIS for your model.
It will involve pumping fuel from one side of the tank to the other so the level where the pump is is below the hole it is fitted in so there is no leak when the unit is removed. Probably be about 2 hours labour for a garage to change it out and install replacement. Would assist if the car was run to near empty before starting removal.
