Hello - I have a genuine BMW hard top hoist which I have been using to store my M3 hard top. I have sold the car and no longer need the hoist. Its a quality piece of kit bought from BMW and fixes to your garage ceiling. Probably very hard to come by now I would guess. Open to sensible offers (thinking around £100 ?) and I live near Bristol. thanks photos attached now

Bargain price, and in Bristol. If only this had come a few years back when my 46 could have used this!!

GLWS :)

done thanks
I had never seen one of those, thank you for sharing that.
Now I'm trying to figure out how that all works.
I have a different, BMW aftermarket version with a pulley point and one bar that goes across the upper edge of the driver/passenger windows and has a strap to the back of the top.
I must admit I am looking at this with the mindset of improving my current setup.

I'm more interested in the frame or straps that attach to the hardtop. Can't see much of that in the pictures.

The attachment of the hoist to the hardtop is the weak point in my setup, it works but has let me down once with less than wonderful results.

I've had a "less than wonderful' result too. Needed to repair and respray it again. Rattle can job. Color didn't match before. It matches even less now :(

Same with me except I haven't fixed the scratches yet, I want to have it done right so I wear the scratches proudly (maybe)? Or perhaps as a reminder to secure the top well when I take it off.

I am thinking this hoist is not for long time storage, but rather to assist you in removing the top and placing it on the roll-around storage carrier, again just a guess on my end. Guess I have some googling to do!

Floor and wall space is in short supply in my 'shed. I've got spare 'height' so long term storage is what I'm after.

Having said all that. I really like the look of my Z3 with the hardtop on.

I kinda 'long term store' it on the car and just hoist it off temporarily for the special days when I feel like a top down spin.
