Just introducing myself. I am a 71 year old confirmed petrol head with interests in almost all Motorsport but particularly rallying where I am a registered marshal. I attend events all over the country and have just spent 8 days setting up a stage for WRGB in North Wales. I go to Ypres each year with a group of similar nutters and we marshal on the Ypres Rally which consists of both historic and modern cars.

Now that closed public road rallies can be organised in the UK I am spending less time in the forest and more on tarmac events

I run a BMW X3.35D Sport every day but I will be collecting a 2009 roadster this Friday. Bought this to treat ourselves for who knows how long. Its only the 2.5 litre engine but it will be fun to drive.

We looked at a few cars before we settled on this one. Almost bought an XK8 and although it was in mint condition I felt that I could well spend more time under it than in it. It was a soft top as well and my garage is already full so it would have had to sit outside. Looked at a few SLK's but they didnt push my buttons so the 09 Z4 it is
