I am going to France in September its the first time I have taken my own car and I am going to use Google Maps as a sat nav , has any one had any experience of using Google Maps in France and had any issues with the Speed camera alerts which I believe are illegal in France or do they not work in France ?
thanks in advance

I have used Google maps in france with no problem, I wouldn't worry too much about the speed cameras, I set off several last year and never heard anything. one of the benefits of Brexit I think because previously I have had a fine but it is only a few Euros, not like the over-reaction in the UK.

Just drove through France using Google maps. Mav is fine, but no camera alerts. I can't remember whether Waze has them? Technically they are illegal here, but most cameras are sign posted ahead clearly, at least on the motorways...

Waze is good in France. No camera alerts.

TomTom alerts you, but only as a danger zone. There are more danger zones than cameras, so you get lots of warnings.

Google maps work fine. Apple maps are better though in case you have an iphone.
