Purchased some new downpipes, received them week from an BMW specialist and guess what they do not fit!

Have now issue with supplier, as he is adamant they fit, but spoken to the manufacture and the selected downpipes are not for an N20 Z4, its for every other car but not the Z!

But still have the pay the guarge - who was going to fit them:mad:

Hi TT, this sounds like an issue, hope you get it sorted. By the way what are downpipes?

Where do you get you car tested, you will need to refit the cats for M.O.T. time.

It's not just emissions though TT, if a cat is missing where one should be fitted, the car should fail even if the emission levels pass the test.;) I recently fitted a de cat pipe on a Honda Civic and had to tell the owner if he brought it back for M.O.T. He would have to re fit the cat, if only just for the test.

Well this is why I am keeping the original - rather than bashing the cat out. So I can make it standard if and when needed

Why do you still have to pay the garage? I had a similar issue with my exhaust last year, Tony will probably remember me sending him pictures from the garages pit! The exhaust did not fit and no alternative could be found without going down the stainless route. The garage had removed the section ready to be replaced and just put it back on again. He didn't want anything but forced £20 into his pocket for the trouble.

TT, is there a lambda sensor behind the cats, if so will removing the cats trigger an emissions warning light on the dashboard?

The things people get up to for the Pod!:)

Hope it all ends a successful project TT.
Me 2 - but it not just for the POD - mate of mine just go himself an 135M and left me for dust....

But if I can get into the 13 secs and lose .4 seconds I be very happy.

The extra HP & TQ will only contrary to the extra weight I have put on - so in reality Its not going to be any faster. So I think your top crown is pretty safe.

I had my eye on a 135 just a couple of months back, I had a test drive and was impressed just how quick it was too! It was a cabriolet
in black and I almost said yes I will have it, but didn't.
I think you will see a throttle response to a 20 BHP lift and its the torque though that will give you a smile. Go for it!

I'd settle for being behind the M135 in a drag race - you've got the much better looking car by far even against an M135 Cabrio.
There's an awful lot of very quick cars out there. Very few with the style of a Zed of any kind ;)
If you want out and out quick go for a Caterham or Elise.

Well, this is the problem...

What I want
Good looking car
Handles great
Great performance
Economical so dont have to think how much it costs when pressing the loud button
Performance of an 35i - but as economical as an 320D
Put a smile on my face every time i look at it
And a bigger smile when i drive it
