Expired Hard Top

Last year I acquired a hardtop in yellow with the promise of a fitting kit to follow. Big problem was the rear window was broken. Now too big a project for me `as fitting kit did not materialise. So anyone want to take this on I'm `open to offers?

Originally Blue. Wired for HRW. All door/window and screen top rubbers seals appear to me to be in very good condition.

Hi Liam, I did have some, even had it sitting on my car, but phone threw a wobbler and corrupted the pics I took from this time last year up to October including both trips to Florida. But I digress I will try to get it down out of storage in my garage roof and let you see them. Might not be this weekend though?

There are not too many yellow hardtops around, is this OEM Dakar Tony? if so it would be good if a fellow Dakar owner snapped this up.

I honestly don't know Brian. Is there any way to identify it please? I'll try to get some photo's of it in situ the garage roof over the weekend and show you and Liam.

Have a look underneath the hardtop at the front and rear, this should give some clues to the original colour.

If it is not OEM Dakar then I would imagine that the underneath will be a different colour unless it was re sprayed to a high standard.

Thanks Brian will have a look tomorrow afternoon after work. I'm working on the cool air box for my new intake least` that's the plan.

Fitting kits, they usually sell for £250 for the aftermarket up to asking £1995 on ebay.uk. I searched for about a month and bid on 6-8 and always ran out of money way before the auctions ended. Finally, hit a 6 min old auction with BIN of £99. Keep looking and if you aren't in a rush check everyday including Holland, Germany, Spain, France, etc.good luck, JIM

I found this last week for some one. Mega bucks......and its being sold in two parts....front and back......!!!

Sold my fitting kit last year for 180.. Feel robbed!! You cant pic one up now for less than 250!

I'm sure they were only 300 new from bmw?

Let's remember folks, this is just the instal prep kit that mount on the car and doesn't include the hardtop parts. So make sure if you're buying a top that the fittings come with it and match what you have on the car. Seems everyone has decided to separate makes more money. Our Romanian member bought a set for €100 that just sold for around £280. He was shocked when it went over £150. Shop wisely. HT how do you get the ebay auctions into the threads, cuz I Check thousands of ads everyday and see items that others are looking for. JIM
