Hard wiring a dash cam

Guys I am wanting to hard wire a dash cam so the charger comes on with the ignition, I was thinking that I could disassemble the plug in charger and just join the 2 wires somewhere, but don't know where, is there a supply near one of the A posts as I want to run the cable around to the rear view mirror.

Sean if you go to my how to guide for interior lights the interior light loom runs down the offside 'a' pillar 3 wires an earth a pin switch live and ignition live there is a connetor half way up a pillar or the cable comes down at offside dash where i joined mine for my lights

When wiring anything hard wired just be careful of what the input voltage and amp rating is of the device as some of the cigarette plug in ones are also like a regulator which adjusts the voltage and amps to suit the device

I am planning on using the unit that plugs into the lighter, just opening it up and connecting to the bottom terminals so I need a bit of space which to put it in, at the bottom of the A post under the dash would be good
