:welcome: to the Forum from West Cumbria, England. Free stuff first, disconnect the electric cables under the seats and give a squirt of electrical connection spray, leave to evapourate, reconect then reset the airbag light with a reset tool (if you have one), it worked for me. Failing that it could be the seatbelt pretensioner.

Welcome from me in northwestern USA.
You’ll want to buy BMW-specific code reader. Pull the codes and this will guide your repair. Might be something simple like seat belt receptacle needs cleaning.

Get a scanner that also performs SRS (supplemental restraint system) reset. This will clear the light after you fix the root cause.

If you like playing with computers, this can be done using factory repair applications on a Windows 10 PC. Or if you don’t like playing with computers, I’ve heard the Foxwell handheld tools work well.

Get yourself a code reader/scanner like a Creator 310+ which is BMW specific, you will also need a 20pin to 16pin cable adapter to plug the scanner into the round Pac-man diagnostic socket in the engine bay. This will read all modules on your car, if you also have a 16pin OBD2 socket under the steering wheel inside the car that will only read the engine module. The round Pac-man socket will read the Airbag modules.
Creator and cables on ebay and Amazon

Cable here

Apart from cleaning the connections under the seats you will need a scanner to see what set the light and to clear the codes once you fix the cause.
