Anybody experienced the headlamp washer (Offside in my case) leaking and draining all the fluid out of the washer fluid tank? Filled the tank up last weekend and noticed shortly afterwards that water was dribbling from the nozzle. Went to take the car out tonight and no screen washer working as tank empty.
Looked on parts diagram and noticed there is a 'valve' between the pump and the nozzle. Makes me think that it is a NRV of some sort. After lifting the tank away from the inner wing, I can see that the plastic tube disappears behind the inner wing and into the void behind the wheel arch liner and the undertray. So, looks like wheel off, remove liner etc to get at the valve.
Valve held open with debris or something similar letting the fluid draining out is my guess. Any feedback welcome.
New valve looks to be about £16. Just got to find time to investigate. 🔧🛠

Yes, the 90 degree valve just below each washer jet incorporates a spring non return valve. Had to clear one of mine of debris as no flow out of it. Likely yours has got something wedged in it keeping it open.
A bit difficult to get to, but an easy fix once you've got it out of the system and blown it through it a reverse direction. Actually you could try blowing it backwards through the nozzle jet before going to all the trouble of dismantling everything.

The valves are tucked in behind the bumper, immediately below the washer jets.

OP. If it the same part as on a 2001 normal Z3, I have two of them sitting in a cupboard you can have for postage if you need them. My washers are never going to be used again.

I know they work as when I disconnected them all the washer fluid drained out all over the garage floor.
