The wiring insulation inside my driver's side headlight is largely missing. Noticed when I was changing out the turn signal lamp. I have pulled the headlight but can't access much of the wiring to repair so I was wondering if the assembly can be taken apart.

These are not made for taking apart. Like the Z3 headlights which are built using meltable adhesive, the Z4 headlights are not. Perhaps a previous owner has tried (and failed) to disassemble this one?

I’ve done a full strip down without cutting apart etc- however it does need the headlights off the car

Didn’t go into huge detail- however when the lights are off and the backs are off then you can unscrew the 4 bolts holding the projector in- small fingers from that point on as that’s as far as the disassembly goes without cutting

Can we not mention meltable headlights please Tony, still a sore subject...
