Hello everyone, just registered on this very helpful forum after lurking for a good few weeks now.
I bought my Z3 from Ant Stark recently, and a very lovely example it is. My wife and I have been using it whenever possible but it is a wet & breezy day here in South Somerset so no trips out today!
Not had a Z3 before, although I did have a 325 saloon back in the early 90s. I am used to older cars, I have owned a TR7 for 20 years so no stranger to maintenance and fixing those bits that just give up on you through old age.
I look forward to many conversations with you all!

Hi Tony…that’s a very nice looking car you’ve got there😉. Glad you’ve found your way here, plenty of friendly help and advice if you need it.
If you’re interested here is my forum ad for your car that has links to some of the work that i’d had done on it.

Hi Ant, thanks for that link, a good read! I fixed the intermittent hood not working issue, and I think I have fixed the intermittent alarm fault by disconnecting the bonnet switch (all good advice found on here) apart from that I have just been driving & enjoying the car :).

Did you just replace the roof switch and wiring Tony ? I honestly never experienced the alarm fault in the 2 years I owned it but then just re-reading JohnBs original sale thread I see it was an issue then ..very strange. Anyway glad it’s sorted and you are both enjoying it. 👍😎

Actually Ant for the roof I have bypassed the switch by joining the wires at the plug behind the passenger seat for now, I will do a proper job & replace the frame switch when I have time (& it’s not raining!). The car is a credit to you.

👍...just remember to lift the roof at the front slightly as you would normally as that hydraulic motor is strong enough to bend the roof frame..think that’s what happened to my red one.

Thank you all for the warm welcome 😁. I will investigate how to post pictures and put up some of my Z3 and my even older TR7 (well BMW do own the rights to the Triumph name).
