Hello All,
Just joined after buying my Zed last month. Its a 2000 Z3 3.0i, I'd been looking for a while & specifically wanted a silver 3.0 manual with black interior. This one turned out to have a couple of parking scrapes on the bumper & alloys, a very tired rear screen and a rather scanty service history, but a genuine 32,500 miles & drove like new. So money changed hands & I began the 650 miles drive home from London back to the Highlands through gales, torrential rain & snow!. She didn't miss a beat and not one drop of moisture entered the cabin. Having had a few older classic convertibles in the past this was a revelation for me.
Since then I've treated her to new fluids & filters, rebuilt a sticky caliper (piston rubber seal was damaged & had led it to rust) added a tinted perspex wind deflector, stone guards and bought a new rear screen too. Oh & also took out the aftermarket stereo & put the original one back in.
I've also driven hundreds of miles with the roof down & a big grin.
I love this car & can't believe how well screwed together it feels after 15 years.
Planning on swapping out the steering wishbone rear bushes for Powerflex ones next & further down the line changing the alloys for something more traditional.
Anybody else in my neck of the woods (I'm around 30 miles from Inverness)?
A few photos I took of the car on a gloomy day & one looking towards Loch Maree, driving towards the West Coast last week in the sun.
Cheers
Mike
