Iā€™ve got a red 2001 Z3 convertible I absolutely besottedly love that is now in a state cos of Covid and I desperately want an enthusiast to have it who will do the cosmetic changes required to bring her back to her former glory. I have no idea of how much to ask for it / where to advertise / find an enthusiast - can anyone please please help & guide me šŸ™šŸ½

Well it was a nice colour once upon a time, but other than that it must be one of the most neglected or abused Z3 s out there.

To be fair mate the vast majority of people would run a mile looking at your car, a very small minority would view it as a spares only car. It's also the least desirable model in that it's a M43 8v Z3, lovely colour though. If you want any sort of money for your Zed I'd suggest a loooooooooooong cleaning session to make it presentable, you can polish money into a car for sure.

No itā€™s cos of Covid I got stuck abroad & the ā€œfriendsā€ who agreed to look after it didnā€™t. Iā€™m GUTTED šŸ˜ but honestly itā€™s not as bad as it looks just needs a new battery, oil & air in tyres. A good clean in & out. The worst thing is the paint work it will require.

Do you have a value in mind?

It had advisories for corrosion on springs on the last MOT in 2017 so if left for 5 years then we can assume there is more and worse. And the pictures show the longterm neglect - such a shame your friends weren't more mindful, they surely share the blame for this?

That said, it's a very optimistic Ā£500 car at present.

Give it to someone responsible who will restore it - but agree a fee - otherwise if you have the spare cash treat it as a long term project and restore it over time - itā€™s not the end of the world!:)
