I am on the side of the road and the alarm keeps going off!
Sounds for a while, then stops. Then does it again. Car drives normally.
A long way from home, so can I pull a fuse or something to silence it?

Try disconnecting the switch under the bonnet

Only other place (and the issue I had) is the tilt sensor in the boot. Passenger side next to the rear light pull the carpet away and stick your hand in deep, at the bottom is the tilt sensor, if its submerged in water the terminals will be corroded. Pull it out and if the wires don't break on their own break them. This cured my issue. If it doesn't work I have no other recommendations.

If its dry in there it will probably be something else.
If this is the issue once done lock/unlock the car with the remote

Thanks, will have a look at that. Home now, noisy journey with the alarm sounding all the way. 😀

Do you have the key to turn the sounder off?

Tony.

You were right. Full of water and the sensor was submerged completely. Have unplugged it and will leave it to dry out fully.

Personally I wouldn't bother refitting it. Also you need to find out how the water is getting in, most likely the aerial grommet. Did it stop the alarm issue?

Hi Tony
Using the fob has no effect and I now also have the dreaded spinning cylinder!
There is a physical key to turn the sounder off. Maybe you never had it. A cylindrical style of key.

Tony.
