HELP Over heating

Hi my z4 keeps over heating and blowing cold air not all clued up on cars but have fitted new radiator and the sensor for the radiator have also put a direct feet to the fan to see if the fan is spinning and it is so stuck at a lose end

First thought would be faulty thermostat. Have you checked to see how hot it gets before it opens? You need something such as this.


Also very handy for testing brake temperature if you have a calliper sticking too.

Yeah would tend to agree if heating OK and you've fitted a radiator and now all is not well system airlocked and needs bled.

These Z4's are known for being a bugger to bleed.

I always lift the nose up top up the system and let itself burp with the cap off till it's up to temp.

This is of course you're sure the water pump and thermostat are ok.

Take the cap of the reservoir and let the system breath. Let it get up to temp, the air will go 'Should' to the highest point being that bottle.
