Hi folks Janek here nice to be on my he site. I'm from Wishaw near Glasgow. Some great topics and feedback on the site.
Just upgraded my seats from cloth to leather but the wiring harness connections all seem different. No big yellow plug to connect to which comes from the floor. Thanks.

Welcome Janek,

It sounds like you have the later connections on your new seats, something I hadn't realised had changed until we were having our seat bush technical day a few weeks back. So everyone knows what we are talking about I have some pictures.

What year is your car? (the images below were taken from a 2000 V reg seat.) I know replacement seat wiring looms are available from BMW still (as @pgunter) just bought some.

Hi Janek, I had the same problem with my sports seat when I put them in. I have a 2000 (facelift) Z3.
I ended up just using the old seats to reference which wires in the seat connected to which wires in the car, and wired them all up individually using standard spade connectors. Hope this helps

Thanks guys appreciate your help. GazHyde it's a 2000. David think I may do the same I think the wiring looms may be expensive from BMW. Can you remember what you payed GazHyde. Thanks again.

It was @pgunter (another member) who bought the loom, and I can't remember what he said. Don't think it was too bad cost wise, but hopefully he can jump in (he's in Milan at the moment, but I'm sure he still stalks here while away!)

Hello,

Sarcasm from @GazHyde per normal service.. lol.. The cost of the wiring looms will vary.. but expect to pay about £25 upwards depending on what year your car was and what part of the loom you need to replace. If you send a message to Sopers BMW in Lincoln on here with your last 7 digits from the vin number. I am sure they will give you a very good price which will help you no end. Delivery is very good too. Hope it helps, but as per the norm.. BMW used a hell of a lot of different things int he Z3.

All sorted guys!!!! Done as David done used the old seat connectors to wire the loom up individually. Took a bit of time and managed to sort out a bit of dampness beneath the carpets also using a hairdrye while the seats were out. There didn't seem to be a live feed from the Z3 to make the seat go up and down on the passenger side but backwards and forwards is fine. The drivers side works great both back and forwards and up and down. The original passenger seat button on the passanger side only showed backwards and forwards so I'm guessing up and down wasn't an option in he original seat. Thanks so much for all your help and advice and hopefully I can help the same in the future. Great to be a part of this forum.
