Blimey I went to college there! Back when the University of North London was still Northern Poly and my alma mater was a small part of it known as The National College of Rubber Technology, I spent many happy hours there. Very, very long time ago...
So did I.
Was there on day release at the time the bloke wot shot the pope was there. Active student union that constantly picketed the front entrance on Holloway Road persuading people not to cross the picket line. Used to go round the back and in through the NCRT lab door.
At lunch the pickets would ask why we got in like that, reply was 'our employer is paying us to be here'.
The family run pizza place across the Holloway Roed fed us well at tea time.
Happy days.
There was a café over the road called the Poly Bar and they served the best spag bol I've ever eaten and my rumbaba virginity was lost there too. This was 1965. You must have been there somewhat later as the assassination attempt was 1981 wasn't it?
