With the declaration of drought and the various hosepipe bans across the country, how do you wash your Zed? I get that watering the crops is more important than keeping your pride and joy sparkling clean, but does anyone have any tips for car cleaning using minimal (or no) water?

Just had a quick glance down the shelves of Halfords, there’s a whole myriad of waterless “wonder” products, anyone used one or can recommend one?

If you have to buy waterless products, send the bill to the incompetent water company for reimbursement. :(

Waterless products! Just wash your car with a dirty house brick, its cheaper and will cause the same damage to your paint

Ask your water company if they'll send round some of the billions of litres they let leak out of the pipes every day because paying dividends to shareholders is more important than doing their job. Not a reader of the Mirror, this was one of the first results Google gave me.

Don't agree about waterless products damaging your paint. I and many others have been using them for years at car shows. Turtle Wax waterless wash is very good and cheap, as is Demon Shine. Personally, I now use Williams waterless wash and wax on a regular basis in summer.. It's better on infrequently used cars,, because you don't get wet brake discs which then rust when it is back in the garage.
Admittedly, I don't think i would use them to remove dried on mud, I would use a bucket of water and wash mitt first, but for light dirt, fly squash, tar or grease marks, they work really well and I don't have scratched up paint..

For infrequent washes re: cars with light dust - and no mud - use quarter bucket of water wash with sponge and rinse / dry with mitt or chamois - works for me.:D

I wash with a bucket and rinse with a couple of watering cans of water. Then thoroughly dry with a large microfiber cloth. If I feel energetic after that give the car a coat of wax.
In-between washes a quick rub over with a large microfiber cloth keeps it looking good. I like the large microfibers wilko sell for £2.00 they are brilliant and just as good as cloths costing three times as much. And easily cleaned in the washing machine.

There's no hosepipe ban in our area so if you're desperate you can come and wash it here.

Ive been to the Lake District several times and it's rained every time. If only there was a clue in the name Lake District implying it might be wet 🤔
