I've had a problem over the last few months, getting worse as time goes on,when the cars warm ,I turn it off and some times it starts, and then it goes to start and cuts out,and I after plant me foot on the throttle pedal to get it to go,when it's running there's no issues at all,I plugged the bm multi scanner tool in ,and the code 7500255 popped up,which is the engine control module I believe,I've tried looking for it to no success to clean the pin and blocks to see iff that cures it,or is something triggering the Ecm ,eg crankshaft sensor or something?any advice much apriacted .
Thanks Jimmy.

I had very similar issues on my 2.0 Z3 Jimmy and it was the inlet camshaft position sensor mate. Have you checked all the usual suspects, ie. induction hoses and connections etc.

Thanks Tony for that,so something can trigger the ecm, I will try to locoate the inlet cam sensor ,and replace it with a genuine oem one from Bmw,as I've heard some aftermarket sensors aren't to great.ive double checked all hoses and clips and they seem fine, the cam sensor is first on my list now.
Thanks
Jimmy.

Hot start definitely sounds like cam sensor. You might also have noticed a loss of performance as well. Just changed ours and all good again

That's where is was on my 2.0 Jimmy, removing the oil filter makes it very easy. I did a write up on how to do this . I'll see if I can locate it for you.

Tony.

@Jimmy Weston its amazing the difference that they make probably just from being in quite a hostile environment but do last well really for a bit of electronics.

Hopefully those two new parts I fitted today should bloody cure it, i didn't get chance to test it late this afternoon, as it was early doors for a beer and curry nite, mmm the beer made it feel an old load better, as someone once said to me,beer doesn't contain many vitamins, that's why you need to drink lots off it
