How to locate your Antenna Amplifier - How to locate your Antenna Amplifier

Having very poor FM/AM reception in the E85 Z4 is a common and known problem. So much so that BMW even released a service information bulletin.

Is this also common on the Z3, do you know?
No, this refers specifically to an amplifier/sound system fitted in some Z4's and never the Z3.

OK. I asked because I have very poor, intermittent radio reception on my BMW factory fitted "Business CD". The antenna has recently been removed for a new gormet (seal) to be fitted and since this, the radio's reception is virtually gone.

Did the same person do the aerial grommet Dawn? If so, add it to the list.

Tony.

No - someone different. I am sick of this, tbh. I love my car and I'm feeling as though I'm being taken for a ride. No pun intended, believe me. Just had the tyres and wheel sorted because @goohak spotted they weren't fitted correctly when the wheels were refurbed and new tyres put on by the refurbishers. Just off to do the ACS. Your post from a few years ago will help me.

A great informative write-up on How To get the dashboard light cluster out, Tony. Thanks so much. I've done it - that hardest part was getting the light cluster free - and found I've got to buy some new bulbs due to the fact that the replacements I have aren't the correct size so I'm planning on getting these first thing tomorrow and then it's across to the MOT centre.
