Hub Bearing Replacement

One of my front wheel bearings have gone so I am going to have a go at replacing both front bearings. Does anyone know of a wheel bearing tool kit that would satisfy both front and rear bearing replacements?
The fronts I hope are straightforward - are there any potential problems when doing the rears if I need to?

The rears may be slightly more awkward as you have the drive shafts to contend with.
I would check the rear brake back plates too as if you are doing the bearings its an ideal time for replacement

The front hubs will just be tapered to flat pivots so a 3 legged puller will remove them with out issue the rear hubs will be different in respect that they will be splined and pass through the center of the bearing so may require alittle more attention to complete.

Contacted BMW Parts to get a price for front wheel bearings - £185 each including VAT - the guy then asked me if I was doing the work and subsequently advised that it should be done by a BMW garage!

Hi I did my front wheel bearings and they came fitted into a new hub. I did them at same time I changed the front struts and back plates. They are not tapered and they are a press fit onto the stub axle. I took my stub axle and new bearings / hubs to guy that dose my mot and he used hydraulic press to change them. I got mine from euro car parts they do 2 types go for the dearer one's they were a £100 the pair and I've had no problems with them. Not sure about rear but will go to Euro again.

Front are fairly straight forward, rears are a pig! When I did the fronts on mine I bought a kit similar to this.

Front Wheel Bearing Kit

As stated before a standard puller will get the old one off, just make sure you have a big enough socket for the hub nut before you start IIRC it is quite a large nut.
