I will soon be starting my interior project and hydrographics will play quite a large part of it as I will be using carbon fibre effect, I contacted a local guy and he wants 3-4 hundred quid for all the parts I want doing, this got me thinking "how hard can it be" I have the main skill set as a panel beater so just need to learn the dipping bit, been researching for a couple of weeks and finally ordered the film and activator last night for the princely sum of £13.80, this will be enough film to do about 50% of the parts, however I will be practicing before I start pulling the interior to bits.
Have you had any done and if so what sort of price did you pay if you don't mind me asking.

You can practice on my interior if you like. Hahaha

I've decided to fit Oem hoops to my track project, but beige/black/red/blue is too much for me! Was going to give wrapping a go.

I'm thinking of doing the same but with someone else doing it.
A mate knows a mate you does this so hopefully at the right price.

The hoops are on my to do list but not sure if the oem ones can be done as they are soft, I can add plastizor to the clear coat but not sure if the carbon film is flexible once dry.

I am planning on combing the carbon with blue leather but if I use blue that means I can't change the colour of the car so I my other option is grey leather.

Perhaps try and source all the interior bits you need and practice at your leisure then once ready swap them out and sell your originals on to recoup the costs.

I say this because the interior work for me is so fiddly and time consuming but needs patience to be done right and rushing it because you need the car usually ends up with making double work and many left over screws and nuts and things and new found rattles!

Be very interested to see what you come up with, there are limited trim options on the after market for Z 's apart from wood so you may have a market to do a few.

Hydro dipping is an ink based transfer the film dissolves just leaving the print it has to be flexible its how it lends itself to any shape .The inflexible bit would be the laquer required for its shine would it not ?

Watched a piece on the news yesterday about body painting! Dip tank with what looked the same as hydro dipping. Technique was the same, put transfer into tank and submerge the body parts. If it's the same thing it has to be flexible! JIM
