Spotted this on gumtree today. Looks a great car, but the colour mix is just a bit ott! I saw a lhd black car the other day with that interior and it looked superb, bit not with yellow. What do you think?

I'd suspect it's Japanese, the buyers there were quite adventurous with the individual programme. I see there are a few cars coming over with M interiors, very interesting as this was a forbidden option elsewhere in the world!

I've just realised the seat colour is Apricot. A factory colour but rare.
And if you look at the ad on Gumtree you can see the seat covering is leatherette which is closely associated with Apricot. Although I think it may also appear with Oregon. Too rare in my view to change out.
The engine is apparently a 2.0. But this seems to be a facelift car. I wasn't aware that combination was possible. Perhaps it's a 1.9 really. Although that's pretty rare in Dakar Yellow too.

The 2.0 M52TUB20 was only available in facelift. 14,616 produced 1999-2000 before being replaced by the 2.2 M54.
