If you go to BCables you can order a replacement disc for £10, this will get you the latest version of everything and it doesn't use an activation server.
Now i didnt know that, i wonder if my bmtechnics cable will work with the disc

i do have another plan, im keeping an eye out for another lapton the same (for cheap) then i will use my recovery hard drive that i used to save a restore too before the laptop died and install all my old software to the new (secondhand) laptop by doing a system restore.

BMtechnics is the same as b cables, unless you have a super old serial cable..

If you want to try recovery then why not just get another hard drive or equal or greater capacity? This will be easy and will work with Microsoft System Image Restore - which I assume you have used.

Using another laptop will be a pain for many reasons! (as miniumun you will need the a like for like processor i.e. same intel stepping, same chipset and then you will be in a minefield of driver and OS problems, equally MS restore is very fickle about change i.e. it doesn't work if you change the hw, even adding a USB memory stick screws it up.

its not the hard drive that died, it was the mother board:(, i removed the hard drive and fitted it into an earlyer model and it all worked, infact i used inpa today but the problem is it isnt my laptop and the battery dies in about 15 min. after i installed it into this other laptop i did a system back-up onto an external drive, then a couple of months later i needed to use inpa only to find the owner had deleted the install, no problem i just restored from the saved hard drive and again all was fine.
now thinking ok if the bm cable will work then the £10 disk is a good option as i can install it on my new laptop.

ok a quick update, anyone with a bm technics cable - this cable will NOT work with any other software. now buying the bcables cable, this was a little bit of a surprise concerning the bm cable, bm technic ripped off Bavarian software then to add insult to injury they then set about making sure you cant use there hardware with anything else:wideyed: kettle black I think

well, all sorted now:) i brought the disc only but found my old cable didnt work with the software so i then brought the bcables cable, it arrived in the post with another set of the discs too:wideyed: so i have gone from no inpa to having two sets of the software, and i can confirm it will run on windows 10, another thing i have noticed is the z3 has now been moved into the older models section:(

Thanks for info/reminder. I recall they achieved this by swapping wiring around in connector head and then tweaking software - there was a photo awhile ago on .net showing the wiring difference but can't find it at the moment. Wiring change should be reversible.
When you bought the BM Technics package you had to connect and load the cable module first before you could load any other modules.
Mine is still working at the moment using Windows Vista on a painfully slow old laptop.

Finally, I have INPA working well on my Win10 64bit computer! The cables only set me back about AUD15 total and the software and setup instructions were free.TIS is also free and is easy to setup and run.
