Well thought i would post a thread and see what everyone thinks of this site.
I will start things off.
There is Excellent communications from the Admin staff, all though still trying to find my way around the changes i find it an excellent site and if it wasnt for the fact of the history of .net i would be very happy if i had to make this our new forum home. I also believe that allthough it would never be forgotten if .net never came back, that this site is an exceptional alternative.
I would also like this thread to show our thanks to the Team behind it all.
So it is a massive thank you from me and well done lads. You could yet go down in history as the blokes who kept the z in forums. :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

We could use this to share new features we find.

Obviously new imoticons
You can upload pics though I will probably still link using img tags until I play around with it

Site seems faster a posting a reply does not hang causing double posts

There seems to be a friends grouping

It's easier to see if someone is online

I do miss the scrolling recent post history on the home screen though

I can use tapatalk

My initial thoughts are I'm amazed they set this forum up so quick and also have managed to get a lot of .net members on here in numbers. ^:)^

The longer .org runs the more it will difficult to lose it completely as I'm sure a lot of us will get used to it over the coming days. :)

A lot of us are impressed with .org and it can only get better.

It would be good if Tim could get in touch with Gary & James and sort things out so we are all winners in zroadster land. :)

Do any mods on zroadster.net have full access to the admin panel? If you do, you can pull a full backup (in the form of SQL import scripts) which would enable the importing of old posts/accounts. I'm not sure if/how much the database structure has changed between phpBB2 and phpBB3 but I'd be happy to help with conversion scripts if needed (I'm a SQL developer by trade). Even if the old forums/posts were imported in a read only state it'd be a massive bonus to this site.

As a zroaster.net Mod I don't have access to the admin panel, AFAIK the only person with full access is Tim the Forum owner.

Congratulations to Gary and James for the amount of time and effort they have put in to get .org up and running so quickly.
It is a shame that .net is not lost, but accessibility issues for the majority render it somewhat useless as a contemporary means of communication.
AFAIK Tim promised upgrades that haven't materialised so I hope he accepts this new site with the spirit and manner in which it has been created.
Good Luck to you all.

Excellent work! much appreciated, love the quick facility to upload photos direct instead of having to use photobucket which is a pain.

One happy zedder again.
