so had a quiet couple of days, and decided to strip off the top inlet manifold for a throrough cleanup... anyway while i was at it i pulled the fuel rail off and give the injectors are good clean too, my mate works in vehicle department in local college and had access to some great equipment... anyway he ultrasonic cleaned my injectors, purged with some magic cleaning fluid, and tested them on flow rig all were within spec and he said they were all pretty bad before the cleaning....

heres a few pics.. i going to put it back today have renewed a few clips and bolts as originally one of the inlet manifold bolts lower manifold were missing and a couple of jubilee clips were rounded off... someone had been here before and didnt even bother to renew a couple of cheap jubilee clips...

I am hoping once i get this put back i will have chance sometime to do the lower manifold to the same finish... it came out real good...

I wish i had take some pictures of the injectors before they were cleaned the difference is amazing..!!!!

well i never thought i would say this but such a simple job and wow what a transformation... this car really flies now.... for anyone that is handy with a set of spanners and knows their way around the engine bay i would recommend them to remove their injectors and get them cleaned either professionally or have a look on youtube on how to do it... i suppose running on better quality fuel and using injector cleaner every now and then would make things a bit better. but my car is so much smoother in throttle response.. and idle has improved loads, and just the general drivability of the car has improved 100% enough of me ranting have a go at it...

well pleased with the result...

Good write up and pics. Changed mine a few years ago - these are the ones that came out.
