My names James, I live in Leicestershire and I'm a long time Z3 owner and viewer of the forum but for some reason I just had never been a member... until now!
I bought my first Z3, a 1997 2.8 widebody manual roadster around 10 years ago when I was 21, it was immaculate, in Montreal blue with a full tan interior (see pics)
I only paid 800quid, it had not been driven in over a year and the head gasket was on the way out, I drove it for a summer then stripped it down to replace the gasket, unfortunately life and other projects got in the way and the car sat, engine open to the elements, regrettably for years until I finally decided to cut my losses and break it for parts. After owning more cars than I can remember I have still never enjoyed owning, driving or looking at a car as much as that! and eventually the time came to buy another one a couple of years ago! A 1997 2.8 widebody manual, this time in black with black and red interior, not as well specced as my blue one but beggars cant be choosers! and oh how times change, at 3000quid this was pretty much the cheapest 2.8 manual in the country at the time (at least in a decent colour) and it had a torn back window, leaky roof, rotten sills, 160k miles on the clock and a few other niggles but I was having it regardless! Im going to put together a build thread as Ive done quite a bit of work to the car and there is plenty more to come but here are a few photos of how she sits at the minute! Its great to meet you all and I'll look forwards to getting involved, learning more and helping out where I can!
