Hello all I have just about had enough of this car I seem to be just spending time & money on it & getting nowhere.

First off I have spent loads trying to sort the tramlining but it still tramlines (yes I know its got 18s on it & that will make it worse)
I then had a petrol leak which was the fuel filter. The ABS/ASC light kept coming on, had it plugged in it shown front n/s sensor so got that changed & still the ABS/ASC light comes on.
It seems low on power so had it checked to find the induction hose split & code PO340 which is the inlet cam sensor, just spent the afternoon changing the sensor & the induction hose then went for a short run checked the codes & still PO340 is showing (it was cleared before I went for a run) although it does go a little better that is probably down to the new induction hose.
I got my sensor from GSF car parts so should I email them to tell them the new sensor is faulty ?

Although the car seems to run ok apart from its still pretty gutless.
I have had the car 8 months & never had this many problems with any cars I have had before.
Its like everytime I do a job it dont fix the problem & I am now starting to lose my patience :(

In contrast. We have had ours now for 2years, and apart from spending what i have wanted to spend ie, upgrades and cosmetic changes. I have only had to change the front brake calipers due to the car been stood for long periods by the previous owners. 2 MOTs and no advisories.

Just about had enough of th Z3

My problem isn't so much the things going wrong its more the fact that I changed the ABS sensor I was told was the problem but the light still comes on. I changed the inlet cam sensor after code PO340 came up but still code PO340 is coming back up after clearing it, does anyone know why, is the cam sensor I bought no good or is it another problem

Sounds like your having a tough time with the car.

Which ABS sensor did you change? I had to change both the rears on mine to get rid of the warning lights.

Re: Just about had enough of th Z3

I had an XR3 years a go, it was old, had a million miles on the clock and was a cut and shut. It was 100% reliable and never let me down. A few years later I bought a very nice, much newer and more genuine XR3i. Within a few weeks it started going wrong with various suspension/engine/interior/exterior problems. The front pipe snapped for the second time which was annoying enough but the engine also developed an ignition fault in the same day. I decided to limp it to the nearest garage, pay to have it fixed and then maybe think about selling it. My mind was made up for me when the interior mirror fell into my lap on the way to the garage.

Unfortunately some cars are just lemons

most things can be sorted out, but you need someone who knows what there doing.

i would take it to an independent specialist, they may be able to iron out these problems for you.

Sounds like that the trade-off between DIY and dosh is not paying off in your case.
Leave in at a reliable indy and it will be trouble free by the next day.
I won't bother posting the same answer on a similar thread posted "elsewhere" ;)

Just changed the exhaust cam sensor & what a difference, it feels really responsive now & quicker. The fault code doesn't come up anymore so now I am smiling. Its booked in tomorrow for the thermostat housing as that has a slight seep & another fault code was thermostat control which is the electronic part on top of the housing so tomorrow should sort that out. Another code I had was brake light switch (even though the brakelights worked ok) this limits the fuel supply or something like that when you brake so I have changed that today also. I will be in the over draught after tomorrow but I am still happy now things are getting sorted :) :)
