My 18 year old son has just finished his A levels and to celebrate him and his girlfriend jetted off to the costa del sol for a few nights in Puerto Banus.
Now I am sure she was expecting beach, pool..a bit of shopping maybe….not 8 hours a day hanging out at the marina car park supercar spotting. He has spotted some absolute belters mind (that’s my boy 😎)

My 18 year old daughter is going to somewhere (not sure where TBH) for a holiday with her friend next week after finishing her A levels.

I will bet a pound to nob of goat s*** I will get no pictures of cars. Not one.

PS. When I finished my exams in 1984, I never had a foreign holiday, or a f***ing 'gap year' or whatever; I went and got a job to pay my way! Now I'm still doing said job and paying for her to go and have fun. Mug. That's me.

I think we are of the same era! I worked part time through my A levels and further education! In fact I worked through the 6 week holidays as a 15/16 year old. I have done a load of family history (yawn) and remember my gran who i remember well worked in a mill at 10 years old....(im sure the four yorkshire men jokes will follow but thats the truth.

Good luck and best wishes to your son AntStark It is good to see success and to celebrate it which is sometimes frowned on these days, onwards and upwards

He’s worked hard this year at college to get a place at uni..that’s as well as holding down a part time pub job and starting an eBay business. He paid for the holiday not me.
Ditto. My daughter has done well (she got ten grade 9 GCSEs), has a place at a top Uni (not Oxbridge cos she didn't like the vibe apparently) and has a part-time job in retail and paid for her own holiday. But I still don't get the whole 'Uni is the ultimate'. We shall see in three years' time TBH, when they come out up their eyeballs in debt.

And they rack up thousands and thousands of debt doing it aswell. We are going to have to 'top up' our daughter's living allowance loan, as it is just not possible to live on them (it is means tested on the parents). So she gets into debt of circa £35,000, not including tuition fees loans, AND we have to fund the extra! Don't you just love 'UNI life'?

She will come out after 3 years, at 21 years of age, with a (frankly meaningless) degree in a made up subject, be around £70k in debt with no experience of anything.

At 21 I had been working for 5 years, finished my apprenticeship, and was earning decent money, had a company car and a mortgage. With no student debts. But apparently it is Soooo much better now!

I think it really depends on the industry you intend to go into and what the typical entry requirements are for those roles. I'd say you have to be focused a lot earlier in life now on what career you want and of course be willing to invest the ££ in it. There are so many equally good and viable alternatives to a degree these days. I would also counter the above, that for certain courses Uni's work a lot closer with industry to ensure the students they are producing are employable. My daughters degree (1st..as why waste the opportunity if you are paying for it) got her a subsequent internship at a global IT company, which has now landed her a top IT management role in London. She is 22, cleared her debts and is looking to buy her first house this year. Makes me sick to think I wasted my 20s bouncing between crappy jobs... but I am equally immensely proud of her.

This thread took a weird change of direction.

I was enjoying looking at all the cars and suddenly it went off down a rabbit hole and I was reminded that I left school at 14 years old without doing any exams. Not even a single CSE in anything.

And retired at 45. No. Not wealthy. Just live within my means.

can not justify the Mansory “thing”.
No actual use of the parts installed (these carbon splitters and diffusers just bolt on to the original part so actually adding weight instead of saving, overpriced leather, really strange colours… it is like some women that are really beautiful in the first place but go and paint their hair green, do the lips silicone thing and add huge boobs.
To me this Mansory thing is look at me I wipe my ars€ with 500 euro banknotes.
Not the words of a jealous man, even if I had money growing from my garden trees, I would never Mansory.

Mansory? Never heared of him.

Anyway. Here's a picture of more 550 look-a-likes than you can shake a stick at - and over to the right is a (probably) real z3. :)

The photo you added is Probably this guy

He is making a fortune with his replicas.
Met him in person, he was working at a body repair shop in Germany and decided he had enough of it. Returned to Greece and now he sells tons of them with prices from 50 up to 150k euros.

I think the yacht is my fav, if we are having them all for the same cost!

I will admit to a soft spot for a 1980s (Dallas) SL Merc. Maybe a 500 rather than a povvy 280, though.

What model is that Fezza?
