The sun was out today so I went for a spin with no particular plan. I ended up going through the other side of Welshpool and stumbled across this route:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&s...0.028827,0.084028&vpsrc=0&hl=en&mra=ls&num=10

It is a fantastic drive, plenty of tight twisty roads that require ultimate respect with stunning views all the way. Some parts of this route are quite similar to the Evo. At the end of the route I found this:

And this:

Here is an arty farty photo:

You can go round the lake, it took me about 20 mins. As you go round be weary of joggers/cyclists. All in all it was a great day, I can highly recommend this to all my fellow Zeders. :D

Seconded!

It really is a stunning part of the country. There is a very good hotel on the shores lake as well which do some good deals out of season. Worth remembering if anyone is planning a cruise in mid Wales or you just fancy a weekend away :)

It isn't that far from my house so I might check out Bala next time.

Thanks for the praise Mozza but the pictures were taken with an 8 year old point and shoot 4 Megapixel Casio. I swear it has magic properties, it can turn any old bit of scenery into something better. Mind you, not even the mighty Casio could do any thing with this ugly mug:

Fantastic place, been a few times, the food at the Hotel is pretty good too, although you can't go charging around the lake road, or you will be collecting more than just dead insects on your windscreen. :-o
