HI Guys and Gals. As some people know I used to have a Z3 I used for the track but have changed that for a Kit Car for reasons I will explain if your interested. but the main reason for this thread is that having built the Kit car on the cheap I will happily detail that as well if people want to know. I have decided that I might as well get it registered for the road. Well the car is a 1992 kit that I built up and got hold of a Vauxhall 2.0 red top 16 valve engine for (for little money) and in checking out what I need to do for the SVA (Single Vehicle Approval) I discovered I need to find out the age of the engine to determine the emissions that I am required to satisfy. Well when I got in touch with Vauxhall with the engine number of my current engine they could not date it as the number I had was incomplete so that meant I have to do current emission standards.

Bearing in mind that I have Del-Orto 45 carbs no cat and no electronics at all that is an impossible task. So what I have done is to get an engine that predates the emission regulations i.e. before 1994 sent the engine number to Vauxhall get a date certificate and now I am about to recondition the engine and put it in then find out what else I need to do to be able to register Lisa-Amarela on the road. I thought people might be interested in a NON Zed progress thread so decided to put it up here.

I think it will take me into next year to get to the end but decided to start the thread and see if anyone is interested. The initial pictures of the Car are on the forum somewhere when I find them I will put a link in so that people can see what I am referring to.
