Good day fellow Z3 enthusiasts. Thanks for letting me in.......becuase my Z3 won't!
So, I've had her just over a year. She's on a 2000 plate so I expected a few niggles.....and got them. Howver, this latest one is really taxing me! I only have one key and intermittently, the remote stopped working. That wouldnt be so bad except, when I used the key manually (eg; by inserting the blade manually in the door lock), that did nothing either. The blade would unlock the boot, but as soon as the boot gets opened, the alarm went off. After going through this a few times and continually pressing the unock button, the doors would eventually unlock.
I took the key to our local Timpsons to get the battery changed and they told me that the battery was still giving off a strong signal (the red light was still coming on when the button was depressed). they suggested that ebcuse I wasnt running the car very often (I try to use it evry weekend but dont using it during the week), the connection between the car and the key was being lost and that if I took it on a long drive, all would return to normal. I did. it didnt!
Yesterday, (a week after her last run out), I couldnt get in at all no matter how many times I tried. After ruining a peaceful Sunday afternoon countless times for my neighbours (I sensed curtains twitching) I gave up.
Any thoughts, solutions, ideas to get me back in her?
