Hi everyone!
Sorry for the long intro but you’ll see why.
Jump back in time to 2010 and I purchased a one owner 2002 Z3 2.2 sport in Aegean blue with lotus white interior, just 17,000 miles on the clock. I cherished and loved the car for 3 years then after much thought decided through lack of use to trade her in for a more practical car(massive mistake). I took home the 3 series diesel and slept on it. The next day I woke up and realised I’d made a huge mistake so returned to the dealership to trade back.
To my horror the Z had sold the same day it went in, I was gutted, if I only knew where it was I’d buy it back, I’ve regretted that decision ever since. I’ve always spoke fondly about that car to everyone and said how sad I am for letting her go.
Jump forward to 2024 and my current vehicle is a motorhome for the wife and I, she also has a car but works daily and uses her car to commute. I needed a little run around as nipping to the shop in a 7 meter long vehicle isn’t practical :) I got the itch for another Z3 and tracked down a lovely example a 2001 1.9 in sliver with black interior. Only two owners from new and 36,000 miles covered.
Whilst really loving the car I just couldn’t help but reminisce about my darling blue one.
The sun came out the top went down and me and the wife went for a tootle around the town. She then said “how long will it be till you get rid of this one?” I said “I won’t I’m not making that mistake again, the only two things that would make me get rid of this is if it were in a nasty accident and written off or I got my original Z3 back”
We drove home and I put the Z to bed in the garage. We walked into the house the wife went upstairs and me into the lounge, for whatever reason I decided to go on a certain selling site and the top auction ad for sale was my original Aegean blue Z3!!!!!! I was stunned, I screamed out with excitement the wife ran downstairs thinking I’d had an heart attack or something and then I showed her the picture of my holy grail!
Naturally I brought the car straight away, and two days later I was reunited with my long lost love. Now with 47,000 miles on the clock and 5 owners(me being two of them :D)she’s still stunning as ever, never thought in a million years I would ever see that car again let alone own it.
I’ve since resold the silver one and am over the moon!
She’s mine forever now!

So hello to everyone from a very happy owner of a 2002 Z3 sport in Aegean blue with lotus white interior.

Sorry for the long intro!!

Steve.

That's a cracking story. @Mint will soon be here commenting on this. He has 2 Aegean blue with Lotus white leather. I'm sure he'd have sold you one of you'd have asked nicely 😉.
Welcome to the forum from me near Mansfield 👍🏼

Excellent result finding your old car, often think back at my previous cars that perhaps I should have kept, probably the best was a 2.0l Citroen CX Athena, loved that car it was a dream to drive and so smooth.

It’s weird as you never really know what happens to them. I still can’t believe it really, I’ve never seen any of my other cars, it was though this one was meant to come back 😃

My 2litre rebody was Aegean Blue with white interior. The bodywork may now be black but the white interior and blue hood are staying.
