Yes it is a from of polish it doesn't cut I believe.
I just applied it with the black foam pad on the DA.
Routine was clay mild cut meguiars 205 polish meguiars #7 show car glaze then finish with wax.

Megs#7 in your process is actually redundant as you'll get the same finish without it.
#7 on older 2pack (non clearcoated) cars acts as a moisturiser for the paint, just like Nivea for your skin.
With modern clearcoated finishes it obviously just sits on the surface with nowhere to go, you'll actually remove most of the product when you remove with a microfibre.
Because it sits on the surface it will also have an adverse affect on the durability of whatever you wax it with over the top.

Top quality shine that! 
It looks nice and shiny to me. A really good finish, but it looks a bit labour intensive. Myself, being an idle git, I use a waterless car cleaner. £9-ish for a spray bottle and I think I also got a couple of microfibre cloths with it.
Spray it on, over all of the muck. Wipe it (remembering to keep turning the cloth.) Polish it off. A Z3 will take about 5 minutes to be totally cleaned, polished and protected. Once the car has been done, sprayed on graffiti can be removed with a second spray of cleaner. (So the demonstration said.)
What to do with the saved time? Drive the car and get it dirty again.

Have used waterless cleaner since the 70's both inside and out with spectacular results as I too would rather spend my time in the seat as opposed to polishing. JIM
@oldcarman and @One Spanner Frank some good words on wisdom there gents. However, there's no better feeling than spending a few hours washing, polishing,waxing, hoovering etc post a nice long drive. Makes the Guinness taste that much better IMHO
