I kind of got nominated for this in October so apologies for taking so long .
What i aim to do is to hopefully put something together that will cover the majority of the mot test as obviously some parts of the test require special equipment and other parts require a ramp.
So with that in mind I'll try to split it a bit for people who have jacks etc and can jack the car up to people who have no knowledge and put something together that is not a Bible on how to pass the mot test more a good bit of reference material to assist owners in maybe spotting stuff before getting handed a bit of paper with someone saying im sorry but its failed.
My plan is to write this up over next couple of weeks so what i am going to do is split the test up into different areas so i can post pictures with each section which will then build up into a complete list

Introduction.

Firstly I'd like to say this is meant as a guide only and not a step by step walk through the mot as you cannot list and picture every single item.
It should also be noted that even though every mot tester has to use the same testing manual people interpretate things slightly different some times and if you have a 50/50 item one tester may pass it whereas another might fail it (especially in the case of corrosion to brake pipes or play in something like a balljoint) Also this guide is focused towards z3 models and their specific design.
Some parts require the vehicle to be jacked to properly assess certain components ( not everyone will be able to do this due to lack of suitable jacks axle stands etc or knowledge) so i will try to keep things as straight forward as i can and try include what can still be checked without lifting the car up.
Again to keep things as straight forward as i can i will split it into different sections each focused on different parts of the test which will allow me to add more pictures to the text to try give as much detail as i can.

My MOT ran out last week. I'm usually on the ball with my cars but work and stuff got in the way. I'm fitting new discs and pads all round, need to clean the brake sensors and hopefully that'll sort the ABS / anti skid lights and need to clear the seat belt light too. If all goes to plan I might be able to get her in before Christmas.
Might even fit my new wheels and put the hard top on
