Hello all anyone used mr vanos?

I think mine needs an overhaul,

Slight oil leak from the bottom left of the unit.

Not a power steering leak after a detailed inspection.

Oil dripping down on the pipes

Rough idle too but power ok.

It won't be driven until sorted.

Not used him mate but he's supposed to be good, a long Q is a good indication, which he has. Busy man.

Mark good news that you have found the source of the leak

He has a good reputation and plan to use him to give my Vanos an overhaul. I changed my solenoid seals 10 years ago with BMW oem seals but the S50 rattle although not as bad as others needs to go. Mr Vanos can also check your cams as well while he’s there to see if they need adjusting as well.

Test the car with live data using Testo. Compare Actual VANOS v. Target VANOS. It will tell you if there is a problem that needs sorting.

If you are going to repair, use VITON seals and S62 diaphragm springs.

Was speaking to a guy at the weekend who drove all the way from Gloucestershire to Darlington to have Mr Vanos sort his system - and never regretted the decision.
