Multimedia for z4 finally sorted

The unit itself for x3, but with some light mods fit z4 nicely. For a sat-nav equipped car would be easier, no need to cut dashboard. But I've cut it.

The unit is pretty descent android screen, which integrates nicely with original business cd radio, retaining all original functionality and adding navigation (any android sat-nav app), Bluetooth and music and video player.

Of course I will remove phone mount from vents, just need waiting for replacement vent.

Make, model, price, how does it connect to the head unit, does it stream bluetooth music?

Got from china, there is plenty on ebay and aliexpress, search for bmw e83 android radio. They all pretty much the same, just different brands. Cost me around US$500 delivered and taxed. It connects to standard harness, The standard harness goes to supplied harness and then one end to screen, second end to standard radio. Fairly straightforward. It does stream bt, also has 32gb of internal memory of which like 24 are free, microsd slot and 2 usb ports. So you can stream, or can upload music to device. Google for latest 6 core 2gb ram model, these are quite snappy. I use top-line sony smartphone, and this is no slower.

Took me like 4-5 hours to install. Btw, I have my previous discrete mp3/bt unit for sale. It can't stream music though, but can emulate a cd-changer so it is controlled by standard radio buttons and adds Bluetooth. Will post to for sale section.
