Hi all,

As per the title really. Tried to use the horn but no matter how hard I press there's just no response - nothing!

It's pretty annoying for me but the wife is very unhappy because she say's it's of no use as it is and probably dangerous to drive like that.

The thing is I haven't tried to use it since I bought the car and when I went looking down below, I couldn't even find it!

OK guys... I thought I may as well throw some humour in there before anyone else does but seriously - is the horn on the Z's concealed out of sight somewhere? My initial thought was to connect a multimeter, press the horn and see if any voltage coming out of the connector at the other end and if there was, to connect the horn directly to a battery to see if it made a sound - a bit of testing to rule things in or out.

Any thoughts..?

Thanks in advance for your wisdom.

Hi Upstream, the horns (Two) are located behind the front valance/bumper. I have retrieved some pictures off one of my old threads. Hope these help!

An old horn ;)

And now a new horn :ymapplause:

The old horns were very badly corroded, it looks like some parts on a BMW weren't made to last

Looks like a lot of work to get to the horn(s). I'll start with the fuse and go from there ;-)

If I'm correct that they have two horns - wouldn't the likelihood of both simultaneously failing be pretty slim? Is there a relay used somewhere and if so, is there another that I could quickly swap over for a test?

Thanks.
