My wifes E36 passed its MOT after a two year resto.

It failed its MOT three years ago with severe rot. I put it into storage for a year, before my friend who owns the storage yard thought he would surprise me and have the welding done (by another mate). When I got wind of it, I said I wanted to refresh the rear end. This turned into an a year of welding once or twice a week and suspension rebuild. It was at the paint shop (B&P Rhodes in Ossett) for three months (I think it got put on the back burner) before I got it back in November last year. If I had pulled my finger out I could have had it all refitted by the summer and be able to use it, but other things got in the way, like getting married.

Its still not finished. The front ride height needs to be sorted (wrong springs?), sideskirts need to be fitted and a new hood needs to be installed. But it passed its MOT this morning with no advisories. I am more than happy.

The wheels are awesome. They're style 32s which I bought from @Dakar Z3 last year.

Now, I just need to do the same with my Z3, and my E36 compact. And my Ford Anglia van. And E21.....

Thank you. I'm over the moon with it. It's turned out better than I'd hoped.

They're great. We meet up every Thursday to work on our cars, drink coffee, eat biscuts then go for a curry.
Sounds a bit like the "ZedShed (Midlands)" we haven't had anywhere near enough this year.

Tony.

Yeah it's very much like that. It only started with the three of us (which we call the Crap Car Collective). But now, there's six or seven of us. Matt has become friends with a guy down at his new gym who has started coming down. He has four Z3s and a Z4. They're a 1.9, 2.2, 2.8 and 3.0. I don't think he's advertising anywhere yet. I did mention this forum but he said he doesn't do forums.
